Who is this program designed for?
The program is designed for mid-to-senior level faculty and healthcare professionals committed to advancing planetary health, equity, and systems-level change within their institutions, communities, and global partnerships.
Do I need prior experience in planetary health or leadership development?
No. The program is accessible to any qualified nursing or healthcare professional motivated to strengthen their leadership in planetary health. Foundational concepts are introduced through pre-program modules before the live sessions begin.
Is the program fully online?
Yes. All sessions are delivered virtually via Zoom and can be accessed remotely. Sessions are also recorded for participants who need flexibility.
Can I work full-time while enrolled?
Yes. The program is designed for working professionals, with two 60-minute live sessions per week and approximately 1–3 hours of additional capstone work, depending on the week.
Is there a capstone project?
Yes. Participants develop an individual capstone throughout the program, addressing a real-world leadership challenge in their own professional or institutional context. The capstone can be submitted as a policy brief, slide deck, opinion article, or an approved alternative format.
How interactive is the program?
Each week includes live sessions featuring keynotes, guided discussions, simulations, and applied leadership activities. Participants also engage in peer feedback pods, capstone studio time, and weekly reflection prompts. To ensure meaningful collaboration and individualized support, enrollment is limited each session.
Will I receive a certificate from Yale?
Yes. Participants who complete the program and capstone will receive formal recognition of completion from Yale School of Nursing.
Is there an in-person component?
The core program is fully virtual. However, participants have the optional opportunity to attend the Planetary Health & Global Engagement Conference hosted by Yale School of Nursing following program completion. This is self-funded and not required to earn the certificate.
